It is getting closer to put on nitrogen for wheat it may be a while. With a wet December, January, and February, fields are waterlogged – looking at maybe mid-March or later, but timing is crucial to get the nitrogen on. The first issue you need to do is to see if the wheat crop is worth saving; many fields have not tillered well. If you are below 20 to 30 tillers per square yard with the waterlogged soils 20 -30 tillers could give you potentially 30 maybe 40 bushels, but doubtful with the condition wheat is in now. Check your fields before putting much money in the crop. If the tillers are there and look okay move forward.
